As part of the 25th Avenue Grade Separation Project, an effort by Caltrain to separate the tracks in San Mateo from the road at 25th, 28th and 31st Avenues, Caltrain closed Hillsdale Station on May 16, 2020 and rebuilt the station four blocks north. It reopened on April 26, 2021.
CC&G conducted a survey to ascertain rider’s reactions to the new construction and suggestions for station improvements. Survey topics focused on overall satisfaction with Hillsdale Station and gathering demographic information of Hillsdale Station users. The survey was conducted at Hillsdale station as a self-administered questionnaire. Results were used by Caltrain in planning future improvements to Hillsdale Station.
